Dr. Anja Timmermann

Hello, I'm Anja, and I am deeply convinced that knowledge and narration are inseparable siblings. This is rooted in my hometown, Göttingen — a typical Lower Saxony town with a quite famous university. Alexander von Humboldt studied here, and Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm worked here as professors. With the urge to explore the last white spots on the knowledge map and enlighten the society by telling science, I once set out on a mission. It took me to the depths of a PhD in European Overseas History accompanied by a master in Communication Sciences, and to the practice fields of wide-ranging job experiences, from volunteer teacher in both, North and South America to radio and television stations. On this journey, I have always found fulfillment in helping people telling their story. My mission — then and now — is to promote collaborative action for a better understanding of the world, teaching and applying narrative competencies. So, if you think you have something important to say and struggle: let’s tell your story.
